Our Story

ConsciousEats was born when co-founders Belinda, Avyay, and Raluca all met at an Imperial Enterprise Lab event while they were students at Imperial College London. Post-event, they were looking for a bite to eat, and wanted to support a place that had a good sustainability ethos in line with their own aims to reduce their environmental footprint. After getting lost in the depths of the Inernet, the team decided that something must be done to support climate-conscious foodies. And so, ConsciousEats was born. 

Meet Our Team

Belinda Ng

Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Belinda is the CEO and Co-FOunder of ConsciousEats. She has a BA in Geography from the Univeristy of Cambridge, and studied the MSc in Environmental Technology at IMperial College London from 2021 – 2022, where she met her fellow co-founders. Passionate about food sustainability and a big foodie herself, Belinda strives to co-create solutions to create a more sustainable food system.

Raluca Gaina

Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer

Raluca was born in Romania and is the CTO and Co-Founder of ConsciousEats. She has completed her undergraduate degree at University of Pennsylvania and her postgraduate degree in Environmental Data Science and Machine Learning at Imperial College London. Having previously worked in Risk Management and currently working as a Data Scientist, Raluca is very passionate about inferring business decisions and strategy using data and modeling

Avyay Jamadagni

 Co-Founder & Chief Product Officer

As CPO and Co-Founder of ConsciousEats, Avyay brings to the team a mix of user knowledge and technical expertise. He is pursuing his undergraduate degree in Design Engineering at Imperial College London, and is also currently involved in waste-management and Ed-Tech ventures. He has a vision to revolutionize the methodology of design by making sustainability one of its foundations, and is en-route to achieving that through his work at ConsciousEats.

Gabriela Lee

UI/UX Developer

Gabriela is the UI/UX Developer of ConsciousEats as well as an Design Engineering student at Imperial College London. She is passionate to create intuitive user experiences and her proficiency in various design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, allows her to bring her creative vision to life. Gabriela is dedicated to creating beautiful, functional and user-friendly interfaces and her engineering background allows her to develop analytical skills.

Deep Shah

Impact Lead

Deep is a passionate environmentalist who has been involved in various initiatives since his youth. Amongst many actions he has implemented a plastic recycling scheme at his school and volunteered for environmental charities, including Action for Conservation.

Currently, he is a first year mechanical engineering student at Imperial College London and volunteers in a youth-led nature restoration project in Wales called the Penpont Project. Through ConsciousEats, Deep has turned his attention to tackling the environmentally devastating process caused by urban areas. With his dedication and expertise, Deep is committed to making a postiive impact on the environment and the world around him.
